Zum Naturfotografen lässt man sich nicht ausbilden, dazu muss man geboren werden. Denn neben einem guten Auge, jahrelanger Erfahrung und dem neuesten Equipment, braucht es vor allem eines: Geduld.
Geduld wurde Walter Oberlechner bereits in die Wiege gelegt. Geboren und aufgewachsen in Bruneck in Südtirol, zeichnete er sich schon seit frühester Kindheit als stiller Beobachter der Natur, vor allem der heimatlichen
Dolomiten, aus.
Mit einer guten Mischung aus Gelassenheit, Abenteuerlust und Weltoffenheit - beobachtend und immer der Natur im Fokus - hat Walter die spannendsten Orte
der Welt bereist und auf Bild gebannt.
Das Ergebnis ist in vielfältigen Fotoproduktionen zu sehen, von Experimenten mit Schwarz/Weiß-Entwicklung in der eigenen Dunkelkammer bis hin zu prämierten Highlights beim Fotowettbewerb „Glanzlichter“.
Als Mitglied der Südtiroler Naturfotografen Strix, schafft es der Genussmensch Walter, geduldig auf die Hundertstelsekunde zu warten, die ein großes Foto ausmacht.

Accanto ad un occhio vigile ed attento, anni di esperienza e la padronanza della tecnica più moderna occorre avere anche una dote particolare: La pazienza
La pazienza é un dono che a Walter fu posto già nella culla. Nato e cresciuto a Brunico in Alto Adige, fin dalla tenera infanzia si é distinto come un silenzioso osservatore della natura, in particolare quella di casa sua, le Dolomiti.
Con una buon mix di serenità, amore per l’avventura ed una mente aperta verso il mondo - ponendo sempre la natura al centro del suo interesse - Walter ha viaggiato per molti paesi della terra impressionando in fotografie le esperienze vissute.
Il risultato é una variegata produzione fotografica, dagli esperimenti di sviluppo in bianco e nero nella propria camera oscura fino ai premi ottenuti presso il concorso fotografico “Glanzlichter”.
Quale membro dei fotografi altoatesini Strix, Walter, riesce isolandosi a godere
dei piaceri della vita mentre rilassato, la sua mano resta tesa sul pulsante di scatto cogliendo quel centesimo di secondo che spesso crea una grande fotografia.

How do you become a nature photographer?
You cannot be trained to be one, you are born to it.
In addition to an excellent eye for detail, a lot of experience and the right equipment, you need one thing above all else - patience.
Walter was born with it. Born and grew up in Bruneck, South Tyrol (Italy), he distinguished himself from early childhood as a silent observer of nature, especially of the local Dolomites.
Coupled with serenity and adventurousness,
the cosmopolitan has travelled to the world’s most exciting places and captured them on film.
The result can be seen in a variety of photo produc-tions, from bold and inspiring experiments with black-and-white pictures in the darkroom to award-winning highlights in the ”Glanzlichter” photo competition.
